Make your sash and email us a picture of yourself wearing it to join in our "Virtual Memorial Day
Suffragist Parade":  recreationdirector@thompsonct.org

The sash was a major symbol of the movement,  as was the idea of maintaining one's femininity as a Suffragette.  The colors all had meaning: purple stood for loyaltygold represented the work of suffragists like Elizabeth Cady Stanton, who adopted the color of the Kansas flower (Sunflower). White represented purity.

Wearing the sash made one immediately identifiable as a Suffragette.

Sash making kits are free, but pre-registration is required
