Reminder: We must have registration, payment, all forms and any meds turned in to our office at town hall BY NOON THE FRIDAY BEFORE YOUR CHILD IS ATTENDING CAMP!



Thompson Recreation's Summer Adventure Camp is open to residents and non-residents ages 5 to 14. This day camp offers a variety of activities including sports, games, arts and crafts, nature, swimming, weekly themes, special events and field trips.

Please note: The camp price now includes the field trip cost and camp shirt.   

Location Quaddick State Park; however, all Wednesdays, except for July 4th (no camp) will be held at Thompson Middle School as well as Thursday, August 8th for Campardy.  Rain location is also Thompson Middle School.

Special Event: Carnival themed Activities planned for Wednesday, August 14, 2019, Camp cookout & celebration at the school.  Hotdogs, hamburgers, chips & drinks will be provided.  There is an extra cost of $15.00

Camp Days/Time Camp will be open for eight weeks June through August  (no camp July 4).  Camp hours are 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Parent pick-up is at 3:55 p.m. 

Field Trips
Field trips take place every Wednesday and depart from and return to Thompson Middle School.   


Optional: Before/After Camp Care
 is available from 7:00 - 9:00 and from 4:00 - 5:30 for an additional fee. (Held at the Louis P. Faucher Community Center in the Library.) Campers are then transported by bus to Camp.


Optional: T-Shirts Campers may wear these specially designed t-shirts in order to clearly identify them as part of our group, particularly on field trips. T-shirts may be used from year to year. Cost of T-shirts included with cost of camp.

• There are no refunds for missed days.

• If your child is attending Thompson summer school, please contact the Recreation office for a fee adjustment.

• 10% discount for each child in a family after the 2nd child registered (3rd child gets discount). Please contact the Recreation office for a fee adjustment.

• Scholarships/support for camp may be available from TEEG - 2019 applications will be available at TEEG, 4 weeks of income from household members over the age of 18 are needed. Applications available May 1st and due back with income by May 16th. Financial assistance may also be obtained from CT Care4Kids. See links below.

MANDATORY FORMS
Form 1 Hospital/Medical Information Form - Mandatory for all
Form 2 Release Form: includes Authorization of Release of a Child, Sunscreen/Bug Spray Permission, and Hold Harmless Agreement - Mandatory for all
Form 3 A copy of your child's physical, with immunization record, from a physical within the past 36 months - Mandatory for all

MEDICATION- RELATED FORMS
Form 4 If your child has a prescribed or over-the-counter medication that will be used during the program, you and your child's physician must complete and submit a Medication Authorization Form.
Form 5 If your child has asthma or a prescribed inhaler, you and your child's physician must complete and submit an Asthma Care Plan Form.
Form 6 If your child has a prescribed Epi-pen, you and your child's physician must complete and submit an Epi-Pen Authorization and Care Plan Form.
Note: All medication must be given to Thompson Recreation prior to the first day of camp. Medication must be in its original container with child's name and dosage information on it.
